Dr. FUNG obtained his Bachelor Degree in mechanical engineering from National Tsinghua University in Taiwan, D.E.A from National Ecole Superieure de Mecanique et d’Aerotechnique, University de Poitiers in France, and Ph.D. in fluid mechanics from Imperial College, University of London. After servicing for 25 years, he retired as a senior lecturer from the Engineering Department of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education at the Vocational Training Council in 2020.

In the past, Dr. FUNG has published papers and conducted a number of consultancy works on Ventilation, Heat Transfer, Fluid Flow, Energy Saving, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and Noise Pollution.

Dr. FUNG is a member of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineers (CSME), the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE, UK), the Royal Society of Aeronautics (RaeS, UK), Hong Kong Institute of Acoustics (HKIOA) and a Registered Professional Engineer (RPE, HK). In addition, Dr. FUNG is the Honorary Secretary of the Hong Kong Institute of Marine Technology (HKIMT).
